sjs instrumental music class
St. Joseph School has a few scheduled times during the week that are set aside for extra-curricular instrumental music. These times are Mondays and Wednesdays after school for about 30 minutes each day. At the beginning of each year in August, students in grades 4 and higher are polled to see which instruments are in highest demand for instruction. Those instruments get priority. For the past three years, an overwhelming number of students chose string instruments over band instruments.
In the 2015-2016 school year, there were nearly two dozen children playing a string instrument at SJS! Numbers fluctuate especially based on sports that are offered at SJS.
Although, Instruction is available for flute, clarinet, trumpet and trombone, actual classes may not be offered each year.
